  1. JOB SUMMARY

The Director: Resource Mobilisation and Partnership will set and lead the organisation’s fundraising strategy, creating new business opportunities with public and private sector donors, including bilateral and multilateral agencies and foundations, in line with One Economy’s business strategy, vision, goals, and mission. The incumbent will oversee the operations of the resource mobilisation unit, raise funds through various platforms, and coordinate positive relationships with donors and development partners. Additionally, the Director will champion and develop the ethical, environmentally friendly, and community-minded side of the business, raising positive awareness of the organisation’s commitment to sustainable social responsibility.

  1. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
    • Resource Mobilisation
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
  • Coordinate donor mapping and identify institutional funding opportunities.
  • Lead negotiations with donors, peers, and consortium members.
  • Develop and submit high-quality concept notes and proposals.
  • Maintain relationships with existing donors and cultivate new ones.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and guidelines.
  • Responsible for the annual fundraising event.
  • Supervise and develop the Resource Mobilisation team.
  • Build capacity of staff to identify and develop business opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Develop strategies for building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Implement and communicate the organisation’s Social Responsibility Policy.
  • Coordinate CSR projects and handle fund allocation.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of CSR initiatives.
  • Raise public awareness of the organisation’s social responsibility commitments.
  • Create partnerships with clients, employees, suppliers, charities, and other groups.
  • Organise events to promote good corporate citizenship and community cooperation.
  • Develop and refine communication channels and messages for stakeholders.
  • Administration and Management
  • Develop and maintain internal systems to support effective resource mobilisation.
  • Administer and manage stakeholder database and management tool.
  • Create an environment of accountability, motivation, and professional growth.
  • Foster effective working relationships with operational support functions.
  • Ensure quality assurance of proposals and compliance with donor criteria.
  • Lead the development of strategic documents and work plans.

 

  • Fundraising
  • Develop Individual Corporate Social Responsibility approaches for One Economy.
  • Facilitate the development of high-value project proposals and subsequent programme reporting.
  • Provide support and technical advice on project planning, design, budgeting, implementation, and reporting.
  • Coordinate database management and reporting for adolescent and young people -focused programming.

  • Lead the development of unit work plans.
  • Ensure the maintenance of project implementation and report tracking systems.
  • Ensure the production of reports to sponsors and periodic special reports.
  • Develop strategic documents such as programme strategy documents.

  1. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • Advanced degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Development Studies, Marketing, or a related field i.e. Public Relations.
  • Up to 8 years of experience in resource mobilisation, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement.
