JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY

The Growth and Production Manager is responsible for driving business growth by securing new clients, building strategic partnerships, expanding market opportunities and strengthening customer relationships, while ensuring that customer orders are efficiently planned, coordinated and delivered to the highest quality standards.

The role serves as the link between business development and production, promoting operational efficiency, continuous improvement, innovation and employee development to support the company’s long-term growth and competitiveness within the Namibian garment manufacturing industry.

This position combines commercial leadership with production coordination to ensure the company maintains a sustainable pipeline of work while delivering exceptional products and customer service.

1. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAs)
a) Business Development and Market Expansion (35%)
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to increase revenue and grow the company’s market share.
  • Identify, engage and secure new corporate, government, institutional and private-sector clients.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with organisations, training institutions, NGOs and industry stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular client visits, networking activities and presentations to promote the company’s products and services.
  • Identify tender opportunities and coordinate tender and proposal submissions.
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Managing Director on strategic growth initiatives and business expansion plans.
  • Monitor competitor activities and recommend strategies to strengthen the company’s competitive position.
b) Production Planning and Coordination (20%)
  • Plan and coordinate production schedules to ensure customer orders are delivered on time.
  • Allocate production work according to employee capacity and deadlines.
  • Monitor workflow to maximise productivity and minimise delays.
  • Ensure products meet company quality standards before delivery.
  • Coordinate procurement requirements with suppliers and monitor stock availability.
  • Monitor inventory levels and recommend stock replenishment.
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks.
  • Introduce process improvements that enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards.
c) Customer Relationship Management (15%)
  • Serve as the primary contact for key clients.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers throughout the production process.
  • Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct customer follow-up visits and satisfaction surveys.
  • Develop strategies to improve customer retention and repeat business.
  • Ensure quotations are prepared and submitted within the agreed turnaround times.
d) Marketing and Brand Development (15%)
  • Develop and implement marketing initiatives that increase the company’s visibility and brand awareness.
  • Work with the Sales Representatives to convert enquiries into confirmed customer orders.
  • Promote the company’s products through digital marketing, exhibitions, networking events and promotional campaigns.
  • Support the development of marketing materials, brochures, presentations and social media content.
  • Promote the company’s internship and skills development programmes as part of its corporate brand.
e) Leadership and Team Development (10%)
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the production and sales teams.
  • Foster teamwork, accountability and a positive workplace culture.
  • Coach and mentor employees to improve performance and productivity.
  • Identify employee development needs and liaise with the HR Officer regarding training requirements.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review production targets and business development activities.
  • Promote continuous improvement across all operational functions.
f) Reporting & Administration (5%)
  • Prepare monthly production and business performance reports.
  • Monitor departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Maintain accurate customer and production records.
  • Report on sales activities, production performance and market opportunities to the Managing Director.
  • Assist with annual business planning and budgeting processes.

  • Knowledge of inventory management, supplier coordination and production workflow optimisation.

3. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
a) Education:

A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Production Management, Business Management, Clothing/Fashion Production or a related field.

b) Experience:

A minimum of three to five years of proven experience in business development, production management, operations coordination or a related leadership role.

Experience in the garment manufacturing, clothing production or textile industry will be an added advantage.

c) Additional Requirements:

Applicants must:

  • Be willing to travel locally for client visits and business development activities.
  • Be able to work occasional extended hours to meet production deadlines when required.
